Great to meet you!

My journey toward becoming a Licensed Mental Health Counselor was significantly influenced by my graduate program at Rollins College, as well as by my undergraduate years at the University of Florida. Working with emerging adults, especially those in the LGBTQ+ community, affords me the opportunity to channel my life experiences into empathy for my clients. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I recognize that mental health and well-being are informed by having the confidence and courage to live as one's authentic self. I strive to help my clients do this within the framework of the identities they hold and experiences they've had.

My approach to therapy

Part of my job as a therapist is to walk alongside a client as they follow their path toward their goals. I may share feedback and observations or simply point things out along the way, within a safe space designed to foster growth and insight. Sometimes therapy involves simply listening when someone needs to feel heard, other times I help clients move outside of their comfort zone and/or learn ways to manage their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors more effectively. I strive to empower clients to be their own therapists, so that they have the skills and confidence to thrive on their own.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, I'll gather some information about your history, presenting concerns, and what you'd like to accomplish during our time together. From there, we'll collaborate on a treatment plan to help you move toward your therapeutic goals. My hope for my clients is that they develop a deeper sense of self-understanding and acquire tools that help to improve and maintain their mental health. I strive for my clients to feel heard and cared-about, and to foster their own recognition of their value and self-efficacy.
