Great to meet you!

Before becoming a social worker and a therapist, I was a meditator in the Buddhist tradition. I was attracted to Buddhism because it directly addressed the problem of suffering and what to do about it. It offered practices to relieve suffering and promote happiness, which I began to experience the more I practiced. This inspired me to train to become a therapist, through which I learned about many additional forms of suffering and ways to relieve that suffering in myself and others.

My approach to therapy

I view psychotherapy as a specialized form of communication that can evoke transformation. I feel that effective psychotherapy involves a combination of mental/emotional processing and skills training. I draw from different wisdom traditions including Buddhist spirituality/psychology, mindfulness-based therapies, somatic and relational therapies (e,g, Hakomi), Solution-Focused Therapy, DBT, CBT, trauma-focused therapy (e.g. Brainspotting), Enneagram Personality Typology, and The Work of Byron Katie.

What you can expect from me

I start by asking what your best hopes are for therapy and how you think I might be able to help you. These questions might be difficult to answer, but I find they help to establish a clear starting point for our work together. Additionally, they become the touchstones that guide us and measure your progress along your path.

*Please note: I will confirm appointments within 24 hours of your booking. Sometimes I am unable to confirm your chosen date and time due to unforeseen conflicts. I apologize for any inconvenience.
