Great to meet you!

Hello, and welcome. I have a Doctorate Degree in Nursing Practice with a major in Advanced Practice Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing. I am dual-certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) and a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C). With over 25 years of nursing experience and more than 15 years as a Nurse Practitioner, I specialize in treating depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, trauma-related disorders, substance use disorders, Intellectual Developmental Disorder (IDD), and other mental health conditions across the lifespan. I am passionate about helping patients achieve the right diagnosis and the most appropriate evidence-based treatment, while providing care with the same compassion, respect, and attention I would want for myself or my family.

My approach to therapy

My approach is rooted in both compassion and science. I believe effective treatment begins with obtaining an accurate diagnosis, achieved through a thorough evaluation and an understanding of each person's unique experiences, strengths, and challenges. I place a strong emphasis on evidence-based care and staying current with the latest research to help ensure patients receive the most appropriate treatment and medication recommendations. I work collaboratively with patients, incorporating education, supportive counseling, motivational interviewing, and practical coping strategies to help them achieve meaningful and lasting improvements in their mental health and overall quality of life.

What you can expect from me

During the first session, patients can expect a welcoming, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where they can share their concerns, symptoms, and treatment goals. I will conduct a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation to gain a clear understanding of their history, current challenges, strengths, and overall functioning. Together, we will discuss possible diagnoses and treatment options and develop an individualized plan tailored to their specific needs. My goal is for every patient to leave feeling heard, respected, informed, and hopeful about their path toward improved mental health and well-being.
