Great to meet you!

I’m Christy Sims, a Licensed Professional Counselor, who is passionate about helping clients heal, grow, and move forward. I work with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, grief and loss, relationship challenges, major life transitions, stress, low self-esteem, and the emotional weight of starting over. My style is warm, honest, affirming, and compassionate. I understand that seeking therapy can feel vulnerable, so I strive to create a welcoming space where you can be fully yourself without fear of judgment. Whether you feel overwhelmed, disconnected, uncertain about what comes next, or simply ready for change, I will meet you where you are and help you build a life that feels healthier, more peaceful, and more authentic.

My approach to therapy

My approach is person-centered, collaborative, and practical. I believe you are the expert on your life, while my role is to help you recognize patterns, process difficult emotions, build effective coping skills, and make choices that support the life you want. I primarily use Person-Centered Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, tailoring each session to your individual needs and goals. Together, we may explore how your thoughts, experiences, relationships, and beliefs influence the way you feel and respond. You can expect compassion and encouragement, along with thoughtful questions and honest feedback that help you move beyond simply understanding the problem toward creating meaningful, lasting change.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and determine whether we are a good fit. We will discuss what brought you to therapy, what has been weighing on you, and what you would like to change or improve. I will ask questions about your experiences, strengths, relationships, and current concerns, but you will never be pressured to share more than you are ready to discuss. Together, we will begin identifying your priorities and developing clear, realistic goals for therapy. You can expect a supportive, conversational experience where you feel heard, respected, and understood, leave with greater clarity about how we can move forward together.
