Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Tennessee with more than 20 years of experience helping children, adolescents, and adults navigate life's challenges. Throughout my career, I have worked in a variety of clinical settings and have had the privilege of serving Veterans through Homeless and Behavioral Health Programs within VA Medical Centers in Colorado, Arizona, and Tennessee. These experiences have deepened my understanding of resilience, trauma, and the remarkable capacity people have to heal and grow.

I earned both my Bachelor of Arts in Social Work and Master of Social Work from Michigan State University and have pursued extensive advanced training in trauma treatment and mental health care. I am a Master Certified Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) practitioner and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), allowing me to help individuals process difficult experiences and move toward healing in ways that feel manageable and empowering.

In addition, I completed graduate certificates in Pastoral Counseling through Liberty University and GeroPsychology through Grand Canyon University. This training allows me to thoughtfully support individuals seeking faith-integrated counseling, as well as older adults navigating life transitions, grief, caregiving responsibilities, and aging-related concerns.

My approach to therapy

My approach to counseling is person-centered and strength-based. This means I believe each person already holds strengths, resilience, and wisdom within themselves, even during seasons when it may feel difficult to access those parts. My role is to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you feel heard, respected, and understood. Together, we work to explore your experiences, make sense of difficult emotions, and identify practical tools that support healing and growth.

I often work with individuals who are navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, boundary challenges, life transitions, and the everyday stressors that can feel overwhelming at times. Trauma can come from many different life experiences, and it often shows up in ways that affect relationships, emotional well-being, and our sense of safety in the world. Through approaches like Accelerated Resolution Therapy and other evidence-based methods, I help clients gently process painful memories, reduce emotional distress, and move forward with greater clarity and stability.

I believe therapy is a collaborative process. You are the expert in your own life, and my role is to walk alongside you as a guide and support. Whether you are seeking relief from long-standing emotional pain, navigating a difficult life transition, or simply looking for a space to reflect and grow, I am committed to meeting you where you are. My goal is to help you develop insight, build healthier coping strategies, and move toward the life you want to create.

What you can expect from me

Many clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure where to begin. If you're feeling nervous about your first session, that's completely understandable. Our initial appointment is an opportunity for us to get to know one another, discuss what brings you to counseling, and explore what you hope to gain from the process. There is no pressure to share everything at once.

Together, we can work to make sense of difficult feelings and create a path forward that feels manageable and meaningful. Healing is not about having all the answers right away. It is about taking thoughtful steps toward understanding yourself, strengthening your resilience, and reconnecting with the parts of life that bring purpose and hope.
