Great to meet you!

If you’re feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, depression, trauma, anger, life transitions, or the fear of the unknown, therapy can offer a place to slow down, understand what’s happening, and begin moving forward with greater clarity. I work with adults, couples, and families to help them identify what is getting in the way, build on the strengths they already have, and develop practical skills that support lasting change.

I became a therapist because someone once took the time to help me improve my own life, and that experience shaped the way I now work with others. Over the years, I have found that meaningful change often comes through learning new ways of thinking, responding, and caring for yourself. My role is to help clients build the social, emotional, and practical skills they need to better handle challenges, reach their goals, and create a life that feels healthier, more balanced, and more fulfilling.

With more than 25 years of experience, I have worked in both private practice and larger healthcare settings. For the last 17 years, I have provided mental health counseling within family medical practices in Ohio, supporting clients with a wide range of concerns and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to help them get the results they are looking for.

I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with Supervision Designation. I served for 6 years in the US Army Reserves. I graduated from The Ohio State University with her BSBA, received my MPA from Central Michigan University, my MSE in both Community (Clinical) and School Counseling from the University of Dayton, and Spiritual Direction Certification from Sioux Falls Seminary. I have additional training and certifications in the following: Advanced Clinical Heart Centered Hypnotherapist, Transpersonal Life Coach, Integral Breath Therapist, EMDR, Master Reiki Practitioner, and Energy Psychology.

My approach to therapy

My approach is eclectic, integrated, and tailored to the individual. I draw from a variety of evidence-based and insight-oriented approaches depending on each client’s needs, goals, and learning style. Some of the areas I often focus on include developing a more positive mindset, learning how to calm and regulate yourself, building resilience, staying grounded in the present moment, improving self-care, and strengthening interpersonal relationships.

What you can expect from me

In the first session, I focus on getting to know who you are, understanding what brings you in, and clarifying how I can best support you. I review the information you share, ask thoughtful questions, and begin building a plan that fits your needs. My hope is that even after the first appointment, you leave with a greater sense of relief, direction, and hope for what is possible.

In our work together, we will identify the outcomes you want from counseling, the strengths you can build on, and the patterns or habits that may be standing in your way. We will also focus on the behaviors and skills that can help you move through obstacles and continue making progress toward your goals. I believe therapy should feel collaborative, practical, and personalized rather than one-size-fits-all.
