My approach to therapy

Calita defines her approach to counseling as eclectic- based which consists of different therapeutic methods. She believes the client maintains control over the pace and content of therapy in order for the client to achieve their sought after, personal goals. The Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approach targets and helps to change the maladaptive thought patterns and behaviors. Structural is used in order to help reorganize family structure and create clear boundaries as well as help to identify strengths within the individuals. Calita also uses the Solution-focused method which allows the focus to remain on the problem & controlled set of behaviors. Although these are some of the approaches taken in therapy, Calita believes that every situation is unique and believes in providing individual care to assist in obtaining a holistic healing for each counselee.
