Great to meet you!

Hello - I'm Dr. Claire Vines - welcome to my practice! I'm glad you're here. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with a doctoral degree in psychology and over 15 years of experience supporting individuals, families, and adolescents through some of life's most challenging moments. My practice is entirely virtual, so I can meet you where you are — from the comfort of your own space. I work with clients across the lifespan, from teenagers to older adults, and I offer sessions in English, French, and Spanish.

My background spans a wide range of concerns, including trauma and PTSD, substance use and addiction, relationship difficulties, anxiety, depression, ADHD, and family dynamics. I approach every client as a whole person — not just a diagnosis — and I bring warmth, curiosity, and genuine care to each session.

My approach to therapy

My approach is integrative and tailored to you. I draw from a broad toolkit of evidence-based methods — including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Gestalt — selecting techniques based on what fits your goals, personality, and pace.

At the core of everything I do is a relational and strength-based foundation. I believe you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to walk alongside you — helping you identify your existing strengths, build new coping skills, and move toward the life you want. Whether you're processing past trauma, navigating a difficult relationship, or working through day-to-day stress, we'll find an approach that resonates with you.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is really about getting to know each other. There's no agenda you need to come prepared with — I'll guide us through a conversation to understand what's bringing you in, what you've tried before, and what you're hoping to feel or experience differently. I'll ask some questions about your background and current situation, but at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

By the end of our first session, we'll have a clearer sense of your goals and whether we're a good fit to work together. Most clients leave feeling heard and with at least a rough sense of direction. My goal from the start is for you to feel safe — not judged, not rushed, and not like you have to have it all figured out before we begin.
