Great to meet you!

I am a Caribbean immigrant who has resided in the US for over several decades. I am a Master's level graduate of the Barry University School of Social Work, and have gathered significant insight and professional therapeutic skills while employed as a Counselor II therapist in the Jackson Memorial Health System in Miami Dade County, Florida. I am passionate about incorporating a holistic approach to providing psychotherapy services to a diverse multicultural population within the South Florida region. My practice focuses on therapy with individuals, couples, and families including adults and adolescents. My ideal client is one who, because of cultural or ethnic differences, may be hesitant toward accessing counseling elsewhere.

I employ a variety of evidence-based approaches that may include but not limited to: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Family Systems Therapy.

I am particularly interested in incorporating mindfulness meditation, guided imagery, creative art, and music, as I have observed the effectiveness of such practices among individuals presenting with mild depression and anxiety.

A bit about my approach to therapy

I employ Cognitive Behavioral Therapy coupled with socratic questioning that empowers my clients in gaining control over their stated emotional and mental health challenges. This exercise has provided clients the skills of thinking about their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and ultimately make positive corrections.

What you can expect from our first session

Clients, after having engaged in sessions with me, can expect to take away the practice of self-care, mindfulness, and a deep sense that I was able to deliver therapy in a non-judgmental and caring atmosphere.
