Claudia Covo

I specialize in working with young through middle aged adults who have been dealing with a range of issues: anxiety, depression, relationships, mood disorders, natural transitions (e.g.marriage, career changes), substance abuse, and trauma. During my 17 years of experience, I have worked with clients of diverse backgrounds. My therapeutic work is a combination of psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral approaches applied to individualized, interactive therapy. I am a graduate of Yale College and the Columbia University School of Social Work. In addition, I have postgraduate training in Psychoanalytic Theory.

I offer a "safe," welcoming environment in which I build a rapport with each client based on empathy and compassion. Through working with clients on creating greater self-awareness, building self -esteem, and overcoming obstacles, I help them recognize and change ingrained behavioral patterns in an effort to navigate more optimally through daily life.
