Great to meet you!

I am a licensed clinical psychologist with a PhD in Clinical Psychology from The George Washington University, and I have been practicing psychology for over 15 years. My work spans helping adults of various ages with concerns such as depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, relationship struggles, and life transitions. I provide therapy in both English and Spanish, and I am committed to creating an inclusive, emotionally safe, and confidential space for clients. I am allied with diverse communities, including LGBTQ+, racial justice, and single mothers, and I value cultural sensitivity in my practice. Beyond therapy, I also specialize in psychological testing and evaluation, which helps identify goals and guide treatment.

My approach to therapy

My approach is client-centered with a focus on emotions and personal dynamics. I believe that personal relationships and emotional experiences are at the core of our existence, so under this lens, I work collaboratively with you to tailor sessions to your unique needs and goals while placing a focus on exploring deeper emotional processes and relationships. In treatment, we will celebrate successes, but I will also compassionately help identify obstacles and help you back on track, all while you set the pace. My goal is to help you learn from and mitigate emotional distress, while fostering resilience, growth, self-actualization, and authentic connections in your life, all under a relationship that is empathic, non-judgmental, and genuine.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, we will dive right into discussing what brought you into therapy, what your concerns or curiosities are, and what motivations you hold. I walk alongside you to identify what your goals are, and salient ways to help you achieve them.

In subsequent session, we continue to work together toward your goals by becoming aware of feelings, learning and healing from both present and past experiences, strengthening genuine relationships, and empowering your authentic self. While I place focus on emotions and dynamics, I also resort to a range of therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to address thought patterns and behaviors, family systems and interpersonal therapy to understand social and familial dynamics, and trauma-focused and attachment-based methods to foster healing. Because therapy is never one-size-fits-all, I adapt my approach but maintain the aim of alleviating emotional distress while cultivating growth.
