I am a lifelong resident of Martin County Florida. I knew from an early age I wanted to work with others and help them through life's challenges. I have had the privilege of working in community mental health with children of all ages and their parents as well as spending over a decade working in the substance abuse treatment field. I have found that compassionate and direct honesty guided by professional training has helped me change many lives for the better.
I believe that to help someone a thorough understanding of the issues as well as what has been tried in the past is essential. Then I utilize a direct, compassionate and involved approach to help give those I work with the tools they need to overcome their issues. Whether through trauma therapy or simply the ability to manage the challenges life brings and the emotions that come with them. I believe therapy is more than simply being a good listener and should include skills to change.
Every client who works with me should take away skills and the knwoeldge of how to use them to make their lives better. They should also expect to leave with a fresh sense of their ability to make these changes.
