Great to meet you!

Hello! I’m Clifford Echabu, PMHNP-BC, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner dedicated to providing compassionate, culturally sensitive mental health care. I believe every person deserves to feel heard, respected, and supported on their healing journey. My approach is collaborative and holistic—combining evidence-based treatment with open, judgment-free communication.

I have experience working in inpatient psychiatric care and community mental health settings, treating individuals facing depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD/trauma-related concerns, ADHD, and substance-use challenges. I also focus on promoting emotional wellness, building coping skills, and empowering clients to take an active role in their care.

Whether you’re navigating a new diagnosis or seeking ongoing support, I strive to create a safe environment where you can be your authentic self and work toward stability, resilience, and renewed hope. Together, we will build a personalized treatment plan that fits your life and your goals.

My approach to therapy

My approach to care is grounded in compassion, collaboration, and respect. I believe healing happens when clients feel safe, understood, and empowered. I take the time to listen closely to your experiences, values, and goals so we can create a personalized plan that truly supports your overall well-being.

I incorporate evidence-based treatments, including medication management, lifestyle guidance, and supportive therapy techniques such as CBT-informed and trauma-informed approaches. I focus not only on symptom relief but also on strengthening coping skills, resilience, and long-term wellness.

I value open communication and shared decision-making—you are always an active partner in your treatment. Whether you’re taking your first step toward mental health support or continuing ongoing care, I strive to meet you exactly where you are with patience, empathy, and encouragement.

Together, we’ll work to restore balance, build confidence, and help you move toward a healthier and more fulfilling life.

What you can expect from me

We will create a comfortable, judgment-free space during our first session, encouraging you to share your story at your own pace. We will talk about what brought you in, your current concerns, and the goals you’d like to work toward. I’ll ask thoughtful questions to better understand your mental health history, lifestyle, strengths, and support system.

This session is also a chance for you to begin to know me—my approach, how I can support you, and what treatment options may be most advantageous. We’ll work together to outline a personalized plan that might include therapy-informed techniques, medication management (if appropriate), and practical tools to help you feel better day-to-day.

Most of all, you can expect to feel heard, respected, and supported. My goal is for you to leave our first meeting with a sense of relief, clarity, and hope — knowing you’re not alone and that we will navigate this journey together.
