I received my M.Ed. with a concentration in Counseling and Psychology from Troy University and a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Brewton Parker College. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor as well as a Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor. I have over twenty five years of experience in Counseling and Psychology. I have worked diligently with high-risk youth, substance abuse, and individuals with mental disabilities.
My theoretical orientation for counseling is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. However, I utilize a variety to modalities in my practice. I am a trained Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Sex Offender Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing.
During your first counseling session, we’ll focus on getting to know each other and building a comfortable, trusting relationship. I’ll take time to listen carefully as you share what brought you to therapy and what goals you’d like to work toward. Together, we’ll discuss your concerns, explore your background, and begin setting clear, realistic goals for treatment.
