Great to meet you!

I take seriously the trust it takes to begin this conversation. So, I listen carefully with genuine curiosity and wonder about the story that has led you to therapy. Is it about a transition that was not chosen, a loss that is still being carried, a quiet sense that something needs to change but the way forward is not yet clear? My work centers on these kinds of experiences that do not always have clear answers. Together we would explore the complex problems that can lead to developing a clearer sense of self and identity, understanding relationship dynamics, processing grief, and adjusting to life transitions. Also, while our work will be virtual, I will be accompanied by my therapy dogs Emma (Miniature Dachshund) and Oliver (Labrador Retriever) to support an on going warm and caring environment.

My approach to therapy

My work begins with the story. Not just what has happened, but how it has been understood, what meaning has been made of it, and how that meaning has quietly shaped the way life is being lived. Together we slow down to examine the stories that have been carried, where they came from, and where they might be getting in the way.

From there we might look at the relationships and experiences that have left their mark, the patterns that show up again and again, and the ways the past is still present. All of this is held gently and explored at a pace that feels right. The problem is the problem, not you. And when we can begin to see it that way, something shifts. What once felt fixed begins to feel more flexible, and the story begins to have more room in it. With that room comes a different sense of what is possible.

What you can expect from me

From the beginning, you can expect to feel supported, seen, and heard. You may notice a sense of relief and reduced distress simply from having a space where your story can be shared without judgment. As we get to know each other, the work will deepen naturally. Sessions will not follow a script. Instead they will follow you, what is present, what is pressing, and what feels ready to be explored.

I am curious about how you have come to understand yourself, the meanings you have made of your experiences, and the stories that have shaped the way you move through the world. That curiosity does not go away. It deepens over time. And as it does, you may begin to notice shifts that are hard to name at first. A little more distance from a problem that once felt consuming. A story that begins to sound different when told out loud. A sense of yourself that feels a little more settled, a little more your own.
