Great to meet you!

I am a LPC-S and an LMFT-S. I was the Director of Clinical Services for an Inpatient psych hospital for 9 years. I am a Certified Professional in Clinical and Family Trauma. I believe there is always HOPE. You CAN get better! We can improve our outlook and brain throughout our lifetime with the concept of neuroplasiticy, the brain's ability to change until we die. "If you change your perception, you change your biology." "It's not what happens to you, but your perception of what happened."

A bit about my approach to therapy

As a Marriage and Family therapist, I look at problems from a systemic approach. There is no blame for family histories. Parents do the best they can with what they know. Their mistakes are made out of ignorance and never on purpose. However, we can gain insight into making our current lives fulfilled and developing strategies for success now, not looking at the past in order to live. We can turn lemons into lemonade. I also use CBT, REBT, narrative, and solution focused approaches.

What you can expect from our first session

A new perspective on how they can start down the road to better relationships, improved family interactions, a better perspective of yourself, and an understanding that whatever we can't control, we have to let go. We can heal our psychological wounds through patience, trust, and walking beside the client always keeping in mind what's in the best interest of the client. Life is about CHOICES. Choices determine destiny and successful outcomes.
