Great to meet you!

Hi there! My name is Connor Gooch, and I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor. I specialize in treating trauma through an attachment-focused approach. I utilize EMDR infused with concepts and practices derived from Ego-State Therapy and Internal Family Systems Therapy.

I believe that therapy is relational at its foundation; to me, that implies that we must build a relational container that is both safe and connected before any deep work can realistically unfold.

A bit about my approach to therapy

My role is to guide and facilitate the healing process of clients as they return home to themselves. This “coming home” process involves attuning to our bodies as we befriend the wounded or exiled parts of our psyche, welcoming them back to the table and listening to what they have to say. This will look like continual somatic check-ins, utilization of bilateral stimulation via EMDR, and an implementation of concepts and practices from Ego-State Therapy and Internal Family Systems Therapy.

What you can expect from our first session

You will learn to be relentlessly curious about why you are the way you are. My goal is to teach you how to make friends with your nervous system in such a way that allows you to attune to the story that your body is telling. In this way, you will learn more about your attachment patterns, traumatic triggers, and the behaviors you've tried so hard to eliminate. Eventually, you realize that no part of you is to be banished from your inner table, rather, a restoration of balance is what is needed.
