Great to meet you!

My name is Connor Nickerson and I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker serving clients across the state of Texas. My professional background includes working in high schools, colleges, and hospitals. I now primarily support clients ages 13-30, as well as members of the LGBTQ+ community. Many of my clients are figuring out who they are, where they’re going, and how to exist in this wild world we live in. Some are learning to manage big emotions, navigate independence, and discover who they are beyond who people expect them to be. Some feel like they're stuck or behind in life while everyone else seems to have it all figured out.

My approach to therapy

I enjoy taking an eclectic, person-centered, approach. While I often use skills and ideas from ACT, DBT, and existentialism, I recognize no two people are the same. I welcome collaboration to structure sessions based on what you want and need from our time together. Sometimes we focus on learning ways to regulate emotions, create healthy relationships, or explore your values to build a life you actually look forward to living. It might be learning to take care of yourself in a world built to burn you out, and some days, you might just need a space to process the messy moments happening in life.

What you can expect from me

I firmly believe it’s okay to not be okay. Therapy is a place where you don’t have to perform or wear a mask. No matter how much you’re struggling or how “imperfect” you feel. My goal is to give you time and space to work through things without feeling rushed or criticized. I listen without judgement, challenge when needed, and help empower you when things feel messy and overwhelming. I show up as myself so you can too.
