Great to meet you!

My name is Connor O'Shea. I am originally from Colorado and moved to Kansas in 2023 to be close to family. I am a husband and a father of two. I received a masters in clinical mental health from Adams State and have been practicing therapy since 2018 and have been independently licensed since 2022.

I have worked in a wide variety of settings including providing therapy for adolescents diagnosed with ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder, doing in-home therapy for adolescents with behavioral difficulties, working at higher levels of care where adults and adolescents who are experiencing difficulties with depression, anxiety, self-harm, suicidal ideation, trauma, OCD, and eating disorders need 24/7 care, as a clinical director at an eating disorder residential facility, and doing out-patient therapy.

I love nature and try to bring that into my therapy office through the help of my therapy dog, Ralphie, my Betta fish ( the most recent one being named Betta), as well as filling the room with plants.

I am Catholic and enjoy integrating Christianity into therapy. At the same time, I do not want religious beliefs to be something that hinders a person from seeking support from me, and am more than happy to not bring religion into the therapeutic space.

My approach to therapy

I work with adults 18 and older who are seeking to be in good relationship with their emotions.

In my experiences as a therapist, I find that being out of sorts with our emotions can lead to a lot of dissatisfaction in life. A lack of emotions can lead to depression, lack of motivation, feeling stuck, difficulty connecting to loved ones, and overall dissatisfaction. Large overwhelming emotions can manifest as anxiety, emotional outbursts, anger, feeling overwhelmed, difficulty concentrating, sleep disturbances, engaging in an eating disorder, OCD, panic attacks, and many more.

Our emotions are a wonderful part of our human experience when we interact with them well. They can tell us what is happening in our environment and give us insight to respond to our situations. Emotions are also the key to processing and understanding our past.

What you can expect from me

My goal with you, my client, is to give you the skills and insights to interact with and manage your emotions. You can be fully integrated with yourself and, with a now whole heart, get to live a more full life.
