Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Connie Cooper.

Change can happen! If you seek a compassionate counselor who also applies science to the therapeutic process, we may be a fit. I employ collaborative and evidenced-based approaches including Cognitive-Behavioral, Narrative, ACT, Mindfulness, SMART recovery, and DBT techniques to address a variety of life issues. Combining my 20 years of experience with your own self-knowledge, we can improve your mood, unhelpful behaviors, marital issues, or life stage changes.

My approach to therapy

In addition to private practice, I've worked with corporations, VA, and community mental health. Prior to counseling, I worked for a multinational corporation in sales and marketing. I lead group training in anger management, parenting, assertiveness, DBT skills, and mindfulness. For problem behaviors I endorse SMART recovery among others. I'm a life-long learner and stay current in my field.

What you can expect from me

If we work together, we will start by identifying your goals and set up a plan to track your progress. We will also work at growing what is already going right! You can feel better and make the changes you want to and I look forward to supporting you with this. Just reading this bio is a start to change...congratulations on taking your first step to feeling better!
