Dr. Corey Bush

I was born and raised in the Chicagoland area. My undergraduate B.A and graduate M.A. training took place at Wheaton College. Following graduate school in the midwest, I moved to the west coast, where I attended the California School of Professional Psychology. Here, I earned a M.A in applied psychology and Psy. D. in clinical psychology with a dual emphasis in forensics and family therapy. My research consisted of working with high risk sexual offenders. Following my time on the west coast, I worked as a Staff Psychologist and Assistant Professor at a local university. In my free time, I train in combat arts and play guitar (try at least ;-).

I consider myself a person centered focused clinician. My style can best be described as warm but direct. I care deeply about family and relationships and how we treat one another. Clinically, conceptualizations maybe based around psychodynamic theory or concepts, while treatment recommendations are framed from a cognitive behavioral orientation and approach. As a christian, I am open to exploring existential matters as desired by the client. The direction and relief this exploration can provide can be beneficial for those who are interested in exploring such matters.

Initial meetings generally consist of comprehensive interviews, where I seek to gather as much information and background as possible, which also entails informing you of your rights and potential limits to treatment and/or confidentiality. Nothing to be skittish about, I want you to have the best experience I can possibly provide while we get to know one another during the process of addressing your mental health care needs.
