Great to meet you!

I received my Master of Science in Counseling with a clinical mental focus from East Texas A&M University. I've worked the past 4 years in education with clients with very diverse cliental and ages (12-18). Additionally, I did an internship at an outpatient facility with clients ages ranging from 40-80. I offer compassion, understanding, and radical acceptance to all my clients.

My approach to therapy

My first few sessions are rapport building through a Person Centered approach. This is a means to build awareness and create an environment for collaborative goals. As the sessions progress I lean towards Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT); which ties together how thoughts, behaviors, and emotions influence each other and maintain issues such as anxiety and depression that can be related to issues such as major life adjustments or/and grief. Lastly, I am comfortable being silly from time to time, sometimes the best cure in a given moment is laughter, but a deep familiarity must be established.

What you can expect from me

The first session is characterized by building rapport through becoming familiar with one another. We will review at your pace and comfort level what has brought you to therapy. I also make it a point of emphasis to validate seeking treatment, as it is a strength to seek help. We will also go over expectations of therapy and potential goals.
