Your first therapy session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin creating a comfortable, trusting therapeutic relationship. You don’t need to have everything figured out or know exactly what to say—I will meet you where you are.
During our first session, we will talk about what brought you to therapy, what you have been experiencing, and what you hope to gain from our work together. I will also learn more about your background, current circumstances, strengths, and the challenges you may be facing.
Together, we will begin identifying your goals and developing a treatment approach that feels appropriate for you. I may ask questions to better understand your experiences, but there is no expectation that you share anything before you are ready.
Most importantly, I want you to feel heard, respected, and supported. Therapy is a collaborative process, and your voice matters. My goal is to provide a safe, judgment-free space where you can be authentic, explore what you’re going through, and begin taking meaningful steps toward positive change.
You may leave your first session with greater clarity, a sense of direction, or simply the reassurance that you don’t have to navigate everything alone. We will take the process one step at a time, together.
