Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Dr. Cornelia Sewell-Allen, a Licensed Professional Counselor with extensive experience supporting adults and college students as they navigate anxiety, depression, life transitions, grief, trauma, relationships, and other challenges that can affect their overall well-being. My clinical training includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), EMDR, and trauma-focused approaches. I strive to create a warm, collaborative, and nonjudgmental space where clients can better understand themselves, develop effective coping strategies, work through difficult experiences, and move toward meaningful change.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and individualized because I believe there is no one-size-fits-all approach to healing. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), trauma-informed approaches, EMDR, and other evidence-based strategies based on your needs and goals. Together, we will explore the thoughts, emotions, experiences, and patterns that may be getting in the way of the life you want to live. My goal is to help you develop greater self-awareness and practical tools while creating a space where you feel heard, respected, and empowered throughout the process.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin creating a foundation for our work together. We’ll talk about what brings you to therapy, what you would like to be different, and the experiences or concerns that are important for me to understand. I’ll also explain how I approach therapy and work with you to identify initial goals that feel meaningful and realistic. Most importantly, I want you to feel comfortable being yourself, asking questions, and deciding whether I’m the right fit to support you on your journey.
