Great to meet you!

I am a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over two years of experience providing compassionate, individualized psychiatric care to children, adolescents, and adults ages 8 and older. I specialize in the assessment and treatment of ADHD, depression, anxiety, OCD, bipolar disorder, psychosis, and other mental health concerns.

Before transitioning into psychiatric mental health care, I spent more than two decades as an educator working with grade-school and college students. This experience strengthened my ability to listen, understand individual differences, communicate effectively, and create an environment where people feel respected and supported.

My approach to psychiatric care combines evidence-based clinical practice with genuine human connection. I take time to understand each patient's unique experiences, concerns, strengths, and goals. I believe in collaborative treatment, clear education, thoughtful diagnosis, and ongoing monitoring to ensure care evolves with each patient's needs.

My goal is to create a safe, judgment-free space where patients feel heard, understood, and empowered to work toward greater emotional well-being and a more fulfilling life.

My approach to therapy

My approach to psychiatric care is grounded in evidence-based practice, careful clinical reasoning, individualized treatment, and collaboration.

I do not view my role as simply writing prescriptions. I see myself as a clinical partner who helps patients understand what they are experiencing, explore appropriate treatment options, and make informed decisions about their care.

Good psychiatric care begins with asking the right questions. I take time to understand the broader picture, including symptoms, history, functioning, medical and psychosocial factors, current stressors, strengths, and personal goals. Careful assessment and diagnostic reasoning help ensure that treatment is directed toward the individual rather than simply the presenting symptom.

I believe patients deserve to understand their care. I explain my clinical reasoning, discuss treatment options, and provide clear information about potential benefits, risks, alternatives, and what we should monitor. I welcome questions and encourage patients to be active participants in decisions about their treatment.

Treatment is individualized rather than one-size-fits-all. What works well for one person may not be the right approach for another. I consider each patient's history, needs, preferences, circumstances, and response to treatment when developing and refining a care plan.

I also believe psychiatric treatment is an ongoing process. We regularly evaluate what is helping, what may need to change, how treatment is affecting daily functioning, and whether the plan continues to align with the patient's goals.

Ultimately, my goal extends beyond symptom reduction. I want to help patients move toward greater stability, improved functioning, renewed confidence, and a greater ability to engage in the relationships, responsibilities, and experiences that give their lives meaning.

What you can expect from me

When you work with me, you can expect compassionate, respectful, and collaborative mental health care. I provide a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can speak openly and feel heard and understood.

I take time to understand your symptoms, history, circumstances, and goals before developing an individualized treatment plan. I believe psychiatric care should be personalized rather than one-size-fits-all.

I will explain diagnoses and treatment options clearly, including potential benefits, risks, and alternatives, so you can make informed decisions about your care. Your experiences, preferences, and goals remain central to our treatment relationship.

We will regularly evaluate your progress and adjust your treatment as your needs change. Most importantly, I see you as a whole person—not simply a diagnosis—and my goal is to help you achieve greater stability, functioning, confidence, and quality of life.

My commitment is simple: to listen carefully, think thoughtfully, communicate clearly, and partner with you on your journey toward better mental health.
