Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Cory, a therapist in Kansas. I believe therapy works best when you feel comfortable being yourself and talking openly without fear of judgment.

My approach is practical, collaborative, and down-to-earth. I want to understand what’s going on in your life, what matters most to you, and what you would genuinely like to see change. Rather than telling you what you “should” do, we’ll work together to identify your strengths, explore what may be getting in your way, and find realistic steps that fit your life.

I have extensive experience working with people during stressful, overwhelming, and emotionally difficult situations. I’m comfortable talking about the things that can sometimes be hard to say out loud, and I work to create an environment where you can be honest without feeling judged.

Whether you're dealing with anxiety, depression, stress, major life changes, relationship difficulties, feeling stuck, or simply trying to figure out what comes next, my goal is to help you move toward a life that feels more manageable and meaningful!

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, practical, and focused on what matters most to you. I use Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and a humanistic perspective to help clients identify their strengths, clarify their goals, and make meaningful changes at a pace that feels realistic.

I believe you are the expert on your own life. My role is not to tell you what to do, but to listen carefully, ask thoughtful questions, help you explore different perspectives, and support you in finding solutions that fit who you are.

I also believe therapy should feel like a genuine conversation. I strive to be engaged, present, and responsive in each session rather than relying on a rigid or one-size-fits-all approach. We will focus on both understanding what you are experiencing and identifying practical steps that can help you move forward.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is really about getting to know each other and making sure therapy feels like a good fit.

We’ll talk about what brought you to therapy, what has been going on in your life, and what you would like help with. I’ll ask some questions to better understand your concerns, your history, and what you hope to get out of therapy, but you won’t be expected to share everything all at once.

I try to keep the first session conversational rather than making it feel like an interview. We’ll begin identifying your goals and talking about what might be most helpful moving forward. You’ll also have plenty of opportunity to ask questions and get a sense of my approach.

My goal is for you to leave the first session feeling heard, understood, and with a clearer idea of what we can work on together.
