Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Mental Health Service Provider with more than 10 years of experience working in mental health, trauma, addiction recovery, and behavioral health treatment. I am currently completing my Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision at University of the Cumberlands, where my research focuses on trauma-informed care, attachment theory, and substance use treatment modalities.

Throughout my career, I have worked with individuals facing anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship concerns, life transitions, addiction, stress management, and co-occurring mental health challenges. My clinical background includes outpatient counseling, medication-assisted treatment (MAT), correctional mental health, crisis intervention, telehealth services, and clinical supervision.

My approach to counseling is compassionate, collaborative, and nonjudgmental. I believe therapy should be a safe space where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered to work toward meaningful change. I strive to meet each person where they are while helping them build insight, coping skills, emotional resilience, and healthier relationships.

I primarily utilize evidence-based and person-centered approaches tailored to each client’s unique needs, with particular interest in trauma-informed care, attachment-focused interventions, cognitive behavioral techniques, and recovery-oriented treatment. My goal is to help clients feel supported while developing practical tools that foster healing, growth, and long-term wellness.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, compassionate, and client-centered. I believe each person’s experiences, strengths, and challenges are unique, so I tailor treatment to meet the individual needs and goals of each client. I strive to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel comfortable exploring difficult emotions, life experiences, and personal growth.

I work from a trauma-informed perspective and integrate evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), person-centered therapy, motivational interviewing, attachment-focused interventions, and recovery-oriented treatment. I help clients develop practical coping skills, improve emotional awareness, strengthen relationships, and build healthier patterns of thinking and behavior.

My clinical experience includes working with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use concerns, stress, life transitions, relationship difficulties, and co-occurring mental health challenges. I also have extensive experience supporting individuals in recovery and those navigating complex emotional or behavioral concerns.

I believe therapy is not about “fixing” someone, but about helping individuals better understand themselves, heal from past experiences, and develop the tools and confidence needed to move forward in healthier and more fulfilling ways. My goal is to walk alongside clients in the healing process while empowering them to make meaningful and lasting changes in their lives.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect their first session with me to be welcoming, supportive, and focused on building a comfortable therapeutic connection. I understand that starting therapy can feel overwhelming or unfamiliar, so I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, respected, and supported from the very beginning.

During the first session, we will discuss what brings the client to therapy, explore current concerns, review personal history, and identify goals for treatment. I also use this time to learn more about each client’s strengths, challenges, support systems, and what they hope to gain from the counseling process. Clients are encouraged to share at their own pace, and there is never pressure to discuss anything before they feel ready.

My goal in the initial session is to help clients feel comfortable, understood, and hopeful about the therapeutic process. Together, we will begin identifying meaningful goals and developing a plan that supports emotional wellness, personal growth, healthier coping skills, and long-term healing. I believe therapy works best when clients feel genuinely supported and actively involved in their own treatment journey.
