Great to meet you!
My name is Courtney Kahl.
I am well versed in theoretical perspectives as well as modalities. I take an eclectic approach in therapy. I enjoy using mindfulness and a Polyvagal approach in sessions that are focused on stress and anxiety.
I began my career in the field of Social Work by earning my undergraduate degree in psychology, followed by a graduate degree in social work. While attending school, I worked as a Mental Health Technician at a behavioral health hospital, where I supported adults, adolescents, and elderly individuals with both high and low acuity needs. After a year in this role, I transitioned to assisting in an outpatient program for adolescents.
With a strong desire to gain diverse experience, I pursued a position as a Child Welfare Caseworker III with the Department of Human Services. In this role, I served families in their county from January 2017 to March 2020. Throughout my career, I have found great fulfillment working with children, adolescents, and adults.
After obtaining my Clinical Social Work License, I recognized that I had truly found my passion. I then began working in the public school system at the elementary level as a School Social Worker. Since 2021, I have also worked as a youth and family therapist outside of the school setting, a role I continue to hold today. I am deeply committed to this field and take great pride in the work I do.
