Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with knowledge and experience in the counseling field. I believe the counseling process is a collaborative partnership between the therapist and client(s) based on trust and mutual respect. As I take this journey with you, we will explore your current concerns, identify hindering beliefs and behaviors, and work together to create and reach your goals.

A bit about my approach to therapy

My primary theoretical approach to counseling is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I desire to understand your thoughts and feelings and work with you to develop insight into your life. I believe that a person’s life experiences shape their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Therefore, I encourage clients to explore learned patterns, behaviors, and faulty ways of thinking to better understand the source of their presenting problem and increase self-awareness.

What you can expect from our first session

Clients will learn more about their most common cognitive distortions and practice changing maladaptive thoughts. Throughout the duration of the therapeutic relationship, clients will also learn how to cope with symptoms of psychological distress by using methods such as mindfulness and practicing self-care. I believe every person holds the power to take control of their mental health and develop an awareness that promotes internal growth. It is my joy to join you on this journey.
