Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Courtney! After 12 years in education as a teacher and school counselor, I've learned the importance of helping people feel heard, understood, and supported. I'm an LPC Associate with a master's degree in School Counseling, currently pursuing my doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision, along with specialized training in play therapy and perinatal mental health.

I work with children, teens, and adults navigating anxiety, ADHD, emotional regulation, relationships, boundaries, self-worth, parenting, and life transitions. I'm especially passionate about helping people reconnect with themselves and find their confidence again.

My approach is warm, down-to-earth, and conversational, with a little humor and gentle honesty. I believe therapy should be a space where you can laugh, cry, vent, and show up exactly as you are.

My approach to therapy

My approach is a mix of understanding the "why" and figuring out the "what now?" We'll explore patterns, connect the dots, and look at how your experiences influence the way you think, feel, and respond. But we won't stop at understanding. We'll also work on practical ways to create meaningful change. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), person-centered therapy, solution-focused approaches, and other evidence-based strategies based on your needs. With children, I incorporate play and creative activities because sometimes toys, games, and art communicate what words can't. I'll meet you where you are, gently challenge you when needed, and celebrate your progress along the way.

What you can expect from me

First sessions are all about getting to know each other. We'll talk about what brought you to therapy, what's been going on in your life, and what you're hoping to get out of our time together. I'll ask questions about your experiences, relationships, strengths, and challenges, but there's no pressure to share everything all at once. If you're bringing your child, we'll spend time understanding their needs, your concerns, and what support might look like for your family. My goal is for you to leave feeling heard, comfortable, and a little more hopeful about what comes next. You don't need to prepare a speech or have all the answers. Just come as you are, and we'll figure out the rest together.
