Courtney Uppendahl

Throughout my years of practice, I have worked with a diverse population of clients. I have worked closely with families, parents, and children in community mental health, adults in more structured short-term therapy, adolescents in the school setting, as well as those struggling with substance abuse. I have had the opportunity to be trained in multiple evidence-based practices, which aligns with my desire to bring research-based treatments into my work.

My approach combines an empathic client-centered outlook, informed by research and various evidence-based practices, to help clients feel validated and empowered as they work towards their behavioral goals. I truly enjoy helping individuals through their everyday challenges, childhood memories, trauma, parenting, and life transitions. I use a combination of strength-based, behavioral, and cognitive interventions to help clients become present, focused, and skillful.

We will work together to identify your goals for treatment, and use them as our guide. At the beginning of each session we will set an intention for that time, unique to what your needs are that day. My hope is that at the end of our sessions you can feel you have a sense of what you can incorporate in your days to further work towards meeting your goals, as well as a sense of clarity and connectedness.
