Great to meet you!

Hello, and thank you for taking the time to learn about my practice. My name is Courtney, and I have been an art therapist & psychotherapist for 20+ years. I view the therapy relationship as a collaboration, with my primary role as a guide in creating a safe container for healing. We will create a path forward together that will help you develop insight, awareness, and tools for navigating both your therapy journey and your daily life.

My style is curious, non-judgmental, and compassionate. I see great value in taking the time to develop a trusting therapeutic relationship in order to do good work. I have a deep respect for the dualities that exist within each person, and what truly makes us human. I believe understanding the brain as it relates to both trauma and healing is a crucial component of the therapy process.

I follow a person-centered and integrative approach, grounded in Energy Psychology, evidence-based trauma treatments, somatic interventions, meditation, neuroplasticity training, and creative wellness. I am passionate about this work, and I welcome the opportunity to connect with you to determine if we would be a good fit.

My approach to therapy

My approach is person-centered and strength based. I integrate strategies based on what is shared in our sessions and my understanding of what makes you feel safe and supported. I will view the "big picture" of your story through a holistic lens - including physical, mental, emotional, energetic, and if appropriate, spiritual aspects that may be impacting your wellbeing.

What you can expect from me

My top priority is getting to know you and creating safety and space for you to acclimate (or reacclimate) to therapy. In our first session, we will just allow your story to begin unfolding at whatever pace feels comfortable to you.
