Great to meet you!

Hello! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who has been working in the mental health field since 1996. I bring significant experience working in underserved communities as a psychotherapist, Clinical Director, and Program Director of multiple homeless shelters serving families, single adults, and adult couples without children. These experiences imbued me with deep experience working with individuals with complex trauma, PTSD, substance use and abuse issues, immigration trauma, and serious mental illness. Additionally, I work with couples, families, and high-achieving high-net worth individuals from diverse personal and professional backgrounds.

I'm a graduate of Fordham University’s prestigious Graduate School of Social Service, where I later went on to teach as an Adjunct Professor of Social Work. Additionally, I'm a graduate of the Practitioner Program in Gestalt Therapy from Gestalt Associates for Psychotherapy in New York, as well as a Certified Integrated Feeling Therapist, both experiential, body-based modalities.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy stems from an understanding of the healing power of a strong therapeutic alliance as the base from which you move from survive to thrive. The work we undertake together stems from a simple, yet powerful belief: You are not a diagnosis, you are a person seeking a better life. You are not the label someone assigned to you, nor are you the label you’ve pinned on yourself. You are a person with the courage to try and make things better. To feel a little lighter. To have a bit more ease in your day. To be more productive. To end a toxic relationship, improve the relationships you’ll always have (think family!), and maybe even find a love you can trust. You are someone with the courage to set and maintain boundaries that put you first and that respect your values and priorities. To steer the ship of your life in the direction you’ve always dreamed of.

You are the expert on your life. I am the expert in helping you make it work for you.

What you can expect from me

Prospective clients who meet with me for a consultation can expect a relaxed and friendly conversation where you feel safe, respected, heard, validated, and supported. You can expect to experience the keen clinical acumen, kindness, and warmth I am known for.

I understand the critical importance of “fit” in forging a safe and successful therapeutic alliance and client experience. This importance is expressed in a respectful and candid exploration of how I may best be able to help you. If it turns out that my background and experience are not as well-suited to your healing as the background and experience another clinician may possess, I will be gentle and candid in saying so. I understand and respect that the special nature of this journey to healing requires that a therapist and client choose each other. Only in this way can the road to healing be fruitful.

And finally, having chosen one another, you can expect my help identifying or clarifying what you want from treatment—and how we may work together to get there.
