Great to meet you!

Clients can present with distress and motivation about a range of issues they want attention with. I provide real understanding about the challenges and factors involved, whether individual, in relationships, in family contexts and considering the forces and history involved. I also will help strengthen healthy thinking about life issues, actions clients can take, skills to develop. In these ways, as a doctoral level psychologist for many years, I help clients improve functioning and move toward goals.

My approach to therapy

I use an approach grounded in human understanding of issues and feelings, identifying life challenges and symptoms and geared to thoughts and actions clients can take to make improvements. . I am aware of systems and family dynamics influencing behavior, also will consider examining past experiences that may have been hurtful and impact current functioning and thoughts. I utilize homework and assignments when appropriate.

What you can expect from me

In the first session, a client or clients can expect a full review of functioning, goals, issues that have been experienced. There will be an action plan for future sessions that will be set out and reviewed together at the end along with actions that clients might take initially. Every effort is made to grasp what is currently needed and feelings and efforts to build a good working together. .
