Great to meet you!

I’ve been a counselor for over forty years and have worked in a variety of settings. That doesn’t make me an expert, just seasoned wood. I have a master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling, I’m a licensed professional counselor, and a certified substance use counselor. My background has been in both the mental health and substance use treatment fields, which has been a good mix since these issues often go together. I also work with couples when appropriate, especially when relationship stressors are impacting mental health or vice-versa.

My approach to therapy

While I have great respect for counselors who specialize in a particular therapy, I don’t believe that one size fits all. Part of my job is to find what strategies can help you. As such, I use an eclectic approach, drawing from an array of evidence-based therapies.

What you can expect from me

Assessment is critical and begins at the first session. A life history is obtained, with exploration of symptoms impacting your life and a treatment plan developed specific to you.
