My name is Cristal Cunningham and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the State of California. I primarily treat clients via Telehealth. The clients I work with range in age from adolescents to older adults. I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, grief, PTSD, and the associated symptoms.
My approach to therapy is integrative based on the needs of my clients. I primarily use Humanistic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Psychodynamic Therapy. For treatment of traumas, I use EMDR, Somatic Therapy, and Parts Therapy aka Internal Family Systems. I also introduce healthy coping techniques and deeper insight to help clients conquer symptoms.
When working with clients, I enjoy collaborating with them along their journey to healing. I provide my clients with secure emotional support in a non-judgmental therapeutic space. My clients express feeling safe and seen while still being held accountable for doing the emotional work. On occasion, I will also assign homework to help clients process further or practice and strengthen new skills.
