Great to meet you!

I am a Board-Certified Christian Licensed Professional Counselor dedicated to helping individuals, couples, and families find hope and healing. I’ve been married for 39 years to my husband, a retired Army Chaplain, and have 3 married daughters and 11 grandchildren.

While Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is my treatment approach I integrate a Biblical worldview into sessions (remaining respectful of the client’s faith preferences) as I am a Christian Counselor. Additionally, I am trained in TF-CBT and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing.

Since opening my practice in 2018, I have been committed to creating a safe therapeutic environment where clients feel seen and heard. Much of my work has centered around trauma exposure such as sexual and physical abuse in children and adults, but I also come alongside those with a myriad of stressors and painful symptoms such as anxiety, anger, parenting challenges, relationship struggles, and life transitions around empty nesting, sandwich generation, death, career moves, and faith-based struggles. Regardless of the circumstance I always tailor sessions to meet the unique needs of clients.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is to listen well and provide wise counsel using Biblical principles and evidenced based interventions. I strive to help clients feel safe and trust the sacred space of the therapeutic room. We will get to know one another, figure out the issues, create a goal or two and implement strategies to help you reach your goals.

What you can expect from me

In the first session we will complete some paperwork and discuss basics about why you came to therapy. I want you to leave with a new found hope that your situation can get better because you chose to take this first step.

I also want you to leave this and future sessions knowing you were seen and heard. David W. Augsburger (1982) said “Being heard is so close to being loved that for the average person, they are almost indistinguishable.” All clients should expect to take away this feeling of being seen and heard and loved because I hold to the Biblical principle of loving my neighbor as myself. My clients know I genuinely care for them. I will work hard for you. I’m all in and ready to come alongside you.
