Great to meet you!

I earned my Master of Social Work (MSW) from Rutgers University in 2013 and have over a decade of experience providing mental health services to children, adolescents, adults, and families. Since beginning my career, I have worked extensively in intensive in-community settings, helping children and families navigate behavioral, emotional, and interpersonal challenges.

In addition, I spent seven years working at Ancora Psychiatric Hospital, where I provided treatment to individuals experiencing severe and persistent mental health conditions, including psychotic disorders, dual diagnoses, and forensic populations. My experience has given me a strong foundation in treating complex mental health concerns and supporting individuals through some of life's most difficult challenges.

I have a particular passion for helping people heal from trauma and consider psychosis treatment to be one of my areas of expertise. I believe that every client is unique, and I tailor treatment to each individual's needs, strengths, and goals. I utilize evidence-based therapeutic approaches while maintaining a compassionate, collaborative, and personalized style to help clients achieve meaningful and lasting change.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is highly individualized because I believe there is no one-size-fits-all treatment. I work collaboratively with clients to understand their unique experiences, challenges, and goals, then tailor treatment using a combination of evidence-based approaches and therapeutic techniques that best fit their needs.

I specialize in trauma treatment and draw from evidence-based interventions to help clients process difficult experiences, reduce distress, and build resilience. I also place a strong emphasis on skill-building, helping clients develop practical tools they can use in their daily lives to manage emotions, improve relationships, and cope with challenges more effectively.

I view therapy as a partnership and encourage clients to be active participants in the treatment process. Together, we create goals that are meaningful and achievable, ensuring that therapy remains focused on what matters most to them.

What you can expect from me

During the first session, my primary goal is to get to know you and gain a thorough understanding of your history, experiences, and current concerns. We will discuss important aspects of your life, including childhood experiences, significant life events, relationships, and any challenges that may be affecting your well-being today.

I also explore whether you have experienced traumatic events—whether large or small—that continue to impact you. Understanding your personal history helps me develop a treatment plan that is tailored specifically to your needs.

We will discuss what has worked for you in the past, identify your strengths, and determine areas where additional support or skill-building may be helpful. I take a solution-focused approach and strive to help clients find relief and practical strategies for immediate concerns while also addressing deeper issues through processing, healing, and evidence-based trauma treatment when appropriate. My goal is to create a safe, supportive environment where you feel heard, understood, and empowered to make meaningful progress.
