Great to meet you!

Hi there, I’m Cristina, a Licensed Professional Counselor with 30 + years of experience working with children and adolescents to navigate challenges such as anxiety, depression, anger, low self-esteem, grief, stress, and relationship difficulties. I create a safe, supportive, and engaging space where young people can feel heard and understood while learning skills to manage life's challenges. I also enjoy supporting older adults who may be navigating grief, life changes, anxiety, loneliness, or other challenges that come with different stages of life.

My approach to therapy

I believe therapy should meet clients where they are, focusing on their unique needs, strengths, and goals. I work collaboratively with clients to help them feel comfortable, understood, and supported while building practical skills they can use in everyday life. My approach is strengths-based and draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), creative activities, play-based strategies, and other interactive tools to make therapy engaging and meaningful. My goal is to provide a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients can explore challenges, build confidence, and feel empowered to make positive changes.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, you can expect a welcoming, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where we can begin getting to know each other. We'll talk about what brought you to therapy, the challenges you're experiencing, and what you hope to gain from our work together. There is no pressure to share everything at once. I want you to feel comfortable moving at a pace that feels right for you. Together, we'll begin identifying your strengths, needs, and goals and create a plan that feels meaningful and manageable.
