Great to meet you!

Hi! I'm Cristina Marra, LMFT and have a Masters in Business, as well. I worked in corporate America during the first phase of my career before taking on motherhood and counseling. I have 15+ years of experience in the field of therapy. I like to help adults and adolescents deal with life's challenges. Outside of work I enjoy my kids, family and friends, and my ranch (where I have horses).

My approach to therapy

While I primarily work with clients dealing with depression and/or anxiety, I have also worked with clients presenting with Dissociative Identity Disorder, grief, OCD and marital issues. My therapeutic approach depends upon the presenting problem and client. The approaches I rely on the most are client-centered, cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and EMDR, as needed. I enjoy helping people by listening in a way that the client feels heard and understood. This then allows for better work to happen as strategies and coping tools are developed. I enjoy working with many different types of issues as we are all complex.

What you can expect from me

The first session will allow us to get to know one another and set goals that feel meaningful. My approach to therapy is that building trust is paramount to successful therapy. Trust building will begin during session 1, and hopefully continue to build.
