Great to meet you!

My name is Crystal Broughton. I am the founder of Milestone Counseling & Wellness, LLC (MCW) and lead therapist with a faith-based approach. As a licensed professional counselor, my mission is to provide the environment that fosters growth and resilience to help those feel empowered and reclaim their lives.

One of my strengths is my ability to listen...to hear YOU; in a non judgmental space. I provide you a space to release, search and identify what you need. Your narrative is the key to your healing and growth on your journey. Our life experiences influence the people we touch in our lives; our relationships, our jobs, our children. I'd love to listen to you.

I am a Master level, fully licensed and Nationally Certified Clinician. I understand the necessity of a safe place to discover healing & growth. We all experience levels of anxiety, depression, existential, and family/social conflict that hinders us from moving forward. The one thing we forget is that we don't have to endure it alone.

My approach to therapy

Types of therapy utilized:

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

o CBT is a popular therapy for treating anxiety, depression and PTSD. This empirically supported treatment usually yields results within months.

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy

o DBT is a highly effective treatment for Eating Disorders, depression, self-injury, suicidality, anxiety, anger issues and Borderline Personality Disorder.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

o Acceptance & Commitment Therapy helps clients live a fulfilling life despite past, current, or future pain.

Solution Focused Therapy

o This therapy is goal-oriented and great for clients who are ready to make actionable changes in their life.

Psychodynamic

o Therapy This type of therapy helps clients go “below the surface” to access their unconscious beliefs and feelings. This therapy usually involves many sessions over a long period.

What you can expect from me

In the first session, clients can expect a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where they are welcomed just as they are. The primary focus of the initial session is building rapport, understanding the client’s concerns, and setting the foundation for future work together.

Clients can expect me to:

  • Explain my role as a therapist and review confidentiality, including its limits
  • Ask questions about what brought them to therapy and what they hope to gain
  • Explore relevant background information (emotional, relational, family, or situational factors) at a pace that feels comfortable
  • Assess immediate needs, strengths, stressors, and coping strategies
  • Collaboratively identify initial goals for therapy
  • Answer questions they may have about the therapeutic process

The first session is not about having everything figured out or diving deeply into trauma unless the client is ready. Clients are encouraged to share only what they feel comfortable sharing. The session is also an opportunity for the client to determine whether they feel supported and aligned with me as their therapist.

By the end of the session, clients can expect to leave with a clearer understanding of:

  • Why they are seeking therapy
  • What therapy with me may look like
  • Possible next steps moving forward
