Dr. Crystal Carrio-Kyzar has been a Clinical Psychologist for the past 15 years. Also having a concentration in Forensics, she has worked in a variety of settings to include county jails and the Federal Prison system providing individual and group psychotherapy, crisis intervention, as well as conducting psychological testing and providing expert witness testimony. Since 2016, she has been proud to serve our Nations Veterans and their families providing counseling and supportive services. Dr. Carrio-Kyzar utilizes a Cognitive Behavioral approach to therapy along with a little bit of humor because let's be honest, sometimes life hits us hard and humor can help ease that burden. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and 3 dogs, going scuba diving, trying new cuisines, and binging Netflix.

My approach to therapy

Dr. Carrio-Kyzar utilizes a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approach which is a structured form of talk psychotherapy that focuses on identifying and changing negative thought patterns and behaviors. This approach can help in managing various mental health conditions.

What you can expect from me

Dr. Carrio-Kyzar will be a compassionate and empathetic listener to be able to provide support as well as structure and guidance to assist clients with their mental health needs. Additionally, clients can expect to develop more insight and control over their various life stressors, an improved ability to cope with their emotions, skills to better deal with their problems, and a reduction in mental health symptoms overall.
