Great to meet you!

I’m currently accepting new clients. Having specialized in treating substance abuse and addictive behavior for more than 30 years, my focus is helping people break free from undesirable patterns to achieve their personal goals. I’m trained in both mental health and substance abuse, with a master’s degree in psychology and counseling, and I completed a year-long graduate program in alcohol and drug abuse treatment. I’m an independently licensed addiction counselor (LIAC) in Arizona since 2014.

My approach to therapy

Therapy provides a way for people to realize pathways for positive change, developing individualized goals and a plan for change that promotes long-term recovery, hope and happiness. Simply put, "Reaching New Highs!" My approach blends Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Mindfulness-Based Relapse Prevention (MBRP) to guide and support you through the change process according to your values, needs and strengths. You can learn important skills for early recovery, new thinking for the long haul, and fine-tune both in therapy. Some just need support and understanding from an experienced professional.

What you can expect from me

What can you expect from your first session? Many claim a sense of hope and direction. For others, it’s about relief, having taken the first step, What are your desired outcomes? As part of our getting to know each other, the initial assessment helps identify goals and planning that set the stage for our relationship and your therapy.
