Great to meet you!

I am an optimist who has worked in the mental health and substance use field since 2007 as both a clinician and music therapist. With 20 years of experience, I support clients who are navigating anxiety, depression, stress, substance use concerns, life transitions, low self-esteem, emotional overwhelm, and patterns of thinking or behavior that keep them feeling stuck. I believe many battles are won or lost before they are ever fought, because our thoughts shape our feelings, choices, and behaviors. My work focuses on helping clients better understand who they are, not just why they are struggling, so they can build resilience, confidence, and healthier ways of coping. I believe healing can be honest, creative, and hopeful - and that everything is a little better with music & chocolate.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, supportive, open-minded, and solution-focused. I believe we cannot change the past, but we can change how we understand it, respond to it, and move forward in the present. In session, we may work on increasing self-awareness, identifying thought patterns that contribute to anxiety or depression, building coping strategies, strengthening motivation, exploring values, and creating practical steps toward your goals. As a music therapist, I also value creativity, expression, and holistic coping tools that help clients connect with themselves in a deeper way. I believe clients can make meaningful progress when they feel supported, empowered, and actively involved in their own growth!

What you can expect from me

In our first session, you can expect me to be warm, supportive, open-minded, and nonjudgmental. I will take time to listen, understand what brings you to therapy, and learn about the challenges you are facing, whether that includes anxiety, depression, stress, substance use, life transitions, low self-esteem, or feeling stuck in patterns that are no longer working. We will begin discussing your goals and what you hope will feel different moving forward. I want you to feel empowered in the decision-making process around your treatment plan, while knowing you have support, guidance, and practical tools to help you take the next step!
