Great to meet you!

As a counselor with over three decades of experience in education, mental health, and conflict resolution, I bring a broad and deep understanding of adolescent and adult development. I’ve worked in public and private schools, community agencies, and counseling centers, supporting teens, adults, and families through a wide range of challenges.

I hold a Master’s in Counseling and am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), as well as a trained Independent Educational Consultant. I specialize in working with students navigating key academic and life transitions—including the move from middle to high school, and from high school to college. I also provide support for college planning and adjustment, particularly for students with ADHD, learning differences, or executive functioning challenges.

My work includes helping teens and young adults manage anxiety, depression, school-related stress, relationship concerns, identity development, and self-esteem. I’ve also spent many years supporting BIPOC youth and families, and I bring a culturally responsive and strengths-based lens to everything I do.

In addition to my clinical work, I’m a trained mediator and conflict coach, and I regularly help students and families develop skills for navigating interpersonal challenges, improving communication, and resolving conflict in healthy, productive ways.

Above all, I’m passionate about creating a space where clients feel seen, heard, and supported as they grow.

My approach to therapy

I use a compassionate, person-centered approach grounded in respect, empathy, and collaboration. I believe clients are the experts in their own lives, and I see therapy as a partnership—one where we work together to uncover strengths, explore challenges, and build practical tools for growth.

My work is also reality-based, which means we focus on what’s happening right now in your life and what steps you can take to feel more in control. I integrate a variety of evidence-based approaches to meet your unique needs, including:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to address unhelpful thoughts and behaviors
  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to support emotional regulation and relationship skills
  • Solution-Focused Therapy to help you move toward your goals with clarity and hope
  • Person-Centered Therapy to ensure you feel safe, empowered, and genuinely heard

Whether I’m working with a teen navigating peer pressure or an adult exploring life transitions, I tailor sessions to meet you where you are—emotionally, culturally, and developmentally.

What you can expect from me

In our work together, you can expect to feel supported, respected, and challenged in healthy ways. Clients often leave sessions with a clearer understanding of their thoughts and emotions, a stronger sense of self, and practical strategies they can apply to daily life.

We’ll identify what’s working, what’s not, and what’s possible—and I’ll be there with you every step of the way as you build new skills, set boundaries, make decisions, and move toward the life you want. My goal is not just to help you feel better, but to help you grow stronger, wiser, and more confident in your ability to handle what life throws your way.
