Hi, I'm Cynthia. I am very passionate about helping individuals dealing with mood-related issues such as depression and anxiety. I have a range of therapeutic experiences including working in both in-patient and outpatient settings. These experiences have given me the tools to help a range of presenting concerns. I have largely worked with late adolescents and adult individuals.
I believe that some of the most important factors for therapy include a safe atmosphere where one can feel able to openly share and be met with openness, acceptance, and positive regard. I believe in prioritizing the therapeutic relationship, which is why I utilize person-centered therapy. I also utilize cognitive behavior therapy as it is adaptable for treatment of many disorders, as well as backed by research in the treatment of these disorders. CBT has a number of interventions that can also be implemented in between sessions, which I find greatly beneficial for building on progress.
It is my goal to meet you where you are in your healing journey and walk alongside you through it. I believe that therapy is collaborative and therefore I make it a priority to check-in with you on how you are feeling about your goals and our progress towards those.
