Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Cynthia! I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who works with children, adolescents, and families navigating emotional and behavioral challenges, anxiety, depression, trauma, OCD, and family difficulties. Whether your child is struggling with overwhelming emotions, experiencing changes in behavior, or having difficulty at home or school, my goal is to provide a supportive space where they feel heard, understood, and comfortable being themselves.

I believe everyone deserves to feel supported as they work through life's challenges. My approach is warm, compassionate, and solution-oriented, with an emphasis on understanding each person's unique experiences and strengths. I strive to create a welcoming environment where children and families can build confidence, develop healthier ways of coping, and work toward meaningful, lasting change.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, supportive, and tailored to each client's individual needs. I believe meaningful progress begins with building trust and creating a space where clients feel safe expressing themselves. Whether I'm working with a child, adolescent, or family, I take the time to understand their experiences, challenges, and goals so we can develop a plan that works for them.

I draw from therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), play therapy, Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and trauma-informed techniques to help clients better understand their thoughts and emotions, develop healthy coping skills, and strengthen relationships. Depending on your needs, our work may focus on managing anxiety or depression, addressing behavioral concerns, processing difficult experiences, or improving communication and connection within the family. My goal is to balance compassion and encouragement with practical strategies that support growth beyond our sessions.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and better understand what brings you or your child to therapy. We'll talk about the challenges you've been experiencing, what feels most important right now, and what you hope to gain from our work together. There's no pressure to have everything figured out before we begin.

You can expect a warm, welcoming, and judgment-free environment where you feel comfortable asking questions, sharing concerns, and exploring what may be contributing to current challenges. When working with children and adolescents, I strive to create an age-appropriate and supportive experience that helps them feel understood and engaged in the process. Together, we'll identify meaningful goals, recognize strengths, and develop practical tools to support greater confidence, emotional well-being, and healthier relationships.
