Great to meet you!

Hi there and welcome! I am Cindy, a Licensed Professional Counselor with a MA degree in International Disaster Psychology (simply stated: trauma). For the past fifteen years, I have dedicated my life to supporting people by working in a variety of settings with exceptional individuals and families across a variation of backgrounds, cultures and diverse socioeconomic factors. I have deepened my understanding of how to work with folks navigating trauma, complex trauma, addiction and recovery, grief and loss, anxiety, attachment concerns, identity transitions, and significant life changes. I believe by empowering individuals, meeting each person where they are at we can working towards lasting solutions and healing.

My approach to therapy

We are humans first and I believe that healing begins and grows from within the relationship. My approach is trauma-informed, relational, and integrative. I draw from my own personal experiences (how could I not) including walking in recovery, blending modalities of Gestalt therapy, EMDR, somatic approaches, and nervous system regulation tools. This blend is built to help others better understand the connection between their experiences, emotions, their bodies, and patterns of coping. I bring a dash of humor, my full authentic self and presence to each session.

What you can expect from me

A first session is a place to get to know each other and assure we are a good match to begin our relationship together. As the first session can be overwhelming due to heavy historic information sharing, I bring tools of presence, slowing things down and regulation tools to support your nervous system and provide you with something to walk away with to support you through the days/week in between our time together. If this feels like it resonates with you, please reach out! I am proud of you for taking a first step towards a new chapter of healing and I look forward to walking alongside you on this journey.
