Great to meet you!

Culture, identity, and expression are essential to happiness. However, this is challenging to embrace for some of us. I work collaboratively with my clients to help them embrace their true selves and accept what we cannot change.

I have ten years of experience working with diverse and marginalized communities. I pride myself on being culturally humble and my willingness to see things beyond the typical textbook therapeutic perspective.

A bit about my approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is to use self-understanding and awareness as a mechanism for change. While my style is primarily insight-oriented and humanistic, I have experience incorporating behavioral therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy into my approach.

I specialize in working with individuals who have experienced trauma and the maladaptive coping skills we learn for survival. I work with my clients to find healthier coping mechanisms.

What you can expect from our first session

I believe working collaboratively for change is key. I like to set goals for my clients, including "homework". Therapy can be challenging, however, we must challenge ourselves to do the work to grow and heal.
