Great to meet you!

I’m Diera Woodard, LCSW, Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I’m passionate about helping individuals and families navigate life’s challenges with compassion, authenticity, and practical tools for real change. My mission is to create a safe, supportive space where you can heal, grow, and reconnect with your sense of purpose and peace.

Clients often describe my style as warm, honest, and empowering. I meet you where you are and walk with you as you develop the insight and tools needed to create lasting change. I believe that therapy should feel like a collaborative conversation — one that helps you understand your emotions, strengthen your coping skills, and move toward a life that feels more aligned and fulfilling.

My approach to therapy

My approach is grounded in compassion, authenticity, and collaboration. I believe that therapy should feel like a safe conversation where you can be fully yourself, without judgment, pressure, or pretense. Together, we’ll work to identify the patterns that keep you feeling stuck, strengthen your coping skills, and move toward lasting emotional balance and clarity.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is focused on getting to know you and creating a comfortable space where you can share openly. We will spend time talking about what brings you to therapy, what you would like to work on, and any questions or concerns you may have. My goal is to make sure you feel safe, heard, and understood from the very beginning.

During our conversation, we will review some background information such as your personal history, current stressors, and what has or hasn’t been working for you. This helps me understand your experiences and develop a plan that fits your goals and comfort level.

The first session is also a time for you to learn more about how therapy works and what to expect from our work together. I will explain the process, confidentiality, and answer any questions about scheduling or what future sessions may look like. You do not need to prepare anything in advance; just come as you are.

By the end of the session, most clients leave feeling a sense of relief and direction. You will have a clearer idea of how we will move forward together and what steps we can take to begin creating meaningful change in your life.
